Playwright feedback for Quickies

“This fast, funny (& furry) romantic comedy unleashes wild laughter with characters that audiences will love and roles that actors can really sink their teeth into. I have seen Meet the Pets performed with 4 different casts (and cats!), and it has never failed to be the hit of the festival. A sure-fire crowd pleaser that’s dog-gone funny to animal lovers and theatre lovers alike.”

“Oh how we take our morning rituals for granted - hitting the snooze button on the alarm clock just one more time, rolling out of that oh so comfortable bed, grabbing a quick coffee... But how might the alarm, the bed, and the coffee feel about our actions? The Morning Ménage is a wonderfully enjoyable short that asks just that question. Outstanding. Highly recommended.”

—John Kelly

“What an absolutely charming way to start the day (or ten minute festival). I loved this piece by Tracey Jane. The perfect anthropomorphic companions we tend to overlook the importance of (well, okay, maybe not coffee), Jane's Bed, Alarm, and Coffee are vividly brought to life with all their own foibles and petty flaws.”

—John Busser

“[Who’s Afraid of the Boogeyman?] is a fun little Halloween play with a few risque moments. Recommended for anyone who'd like to laugh. Good work!”

—Brian Stubbles

“Part workplace farce, part sci-fi parody, part romantic comedy, Transported boldly goes where few plays have gone before. With big roles that actors will embrace and big laughs that audiences will love, Tracey Jane’s script will appeal to anyone who has ever had a “work-spouse,” watched Star Trek, or simply wished they were somewhere else.”

“[Jane’s] comedy mixes coarse-but-not-graphic sex jokes with an appealing sweetness.”

—Matthew J. Palm, re: Welcome to Intercourse

ORLANDO WEEKLY

“A raunchy feminist comedy about artificial affection.”

—Seth Kubersky, re: Build-a-Bob

“...an adult take on Pixar's Inside Out that anthropomorphizes the logical and emotional hemispheres of an overstressed wife's brain. As she contemplates divorcing her Star Wars-obsessed schlub of a husband, her dreams manifest as a pizza sauce-smearing nightmare…ridiculous yet relatable scenario with the comic timing of a sitcom pilot.”

Workshop audience anonymous survey feedback for A Halloween Carol

"I love the Christmas Carol so I thought doing a Halloween spin was an awesome idea! The songs were great and the little bits of humor along the way was a lot of fun. We'd never been to a workshop and were worried at 1st when we walked in and saw there was no scenery, costumes, props, etc... but we were pleasantly surprised and fully enjoyed it!"

"The story kept me engaged the entire time, no lagging or slowness. Range of emotions felt."

"I loved Timmy's songs and the relationship between the brother and sister. I loved the Past Perfect song-- really smart lyrics and fantastic melody. Rarely do I attend a musical where I like nearly all of the musical numbers-- this one I did! Loved the hamster bit. So, so funny."

"Music was wonderful and script was clever and funny. "

"The singers were all very talented, and the songs were witty."

"I enjoyed the themes of the musical and how it would be very relatable to teens. It was also pretty funny and I appreciated all the nerdy grammar and math jokes."

"There were some lessons along the way which I thought were good messages."

"The characters were fun and developed."

"The music was amazing and the actors very talented."

"Carol was intelligent. The dialogue, and several of the songs, were smart. Her brother was flawed, but earnest. The characters were relatable - except the Mean Girls selling bootleg Girl Scout cookies. The story had funny parts and sad parts."

"The relationship between Carol and Marley was a lot of fun. The hamster number was fun too."

"I would love to see it as a full stage production."

"The story line had an impact as it shows to embrace what scares you and to live life."

"The production was very well done! I was engaged the entire show. I loved the originality of the concept. The cast was terrific and you could see how much fun they were having, which spilled over into the audience. The music was exciting and fresh and at times very moving."

"Overall we loved it and can't wait to see a full production of it!"

"Very enjoyable! I hope you can stage it in the future."
